BRINK
MALE
THREE YEARS
BELGIAN SHEPHERD DOG (MALINOIS)
CESAVIAS
So, you want to know what I look like? Alrighty then, I suppose I could describe myself to you. I'm a Belgian Shepherd Dog, of the Malinois variety. Both of my parents were as well, therefore there isn't too much difference in the way I look, compared to others of my breed. I hale on the larger end of my breed, standing at twenty six inches tall, and when I'm at a healthy weight, around seventy-two pounds. So yeah, I suppose you could say that I am fairly large. I never use my size to dominate, though, not unless I am protecting my pack.
Moving on to coat color, most of my coat is dark tan, with darker brown and lighter tan accents. Honestly, its pretty boring. Just a solid sheet of brown to tan, all the way from my chest to the tip of my tail. I do have a bit of white mixed in there, but yeah, for the most part very boring. I suppose, compared to the rest of my body, my face is pretty interesting. I have what is called a black mask that covers my snout and my eyes. My ears are also black.
My eyes are about as boring as the rest of me. They are dark brown, though they still pop against the black fur of my face. My face is long, thin, and angular, but that is a breed characteristic as well. I have been called 'handsome' in my lifetime, but girls have never really been my forte so I've never had a mate or anything like that.
As far as my build goes, I am very solid. I'm not bulky like a bully breed, but anyone who looks at me can tell that I have a solid sheet of muscle under my pelt. I am built to be a working dog, therefore I don't have thin limbs and there is nothing 'dainty' about me. To someone who doesn't know me, I might even look a little intimidating.

THE GOOD: Affectionate, Bright, Compassionate, Diligent, Energetic, Friendly, Kind, Loyal, Optimistic, Romantic, Trusting.
Affectionate - Brink is not the kind of dog to keep his emotions hidden or secretive, when he likes you, he will let you know. This has culminated in his very affectionate nature. He can often be seen cuddling, playing, comforting, or just generally showing outward physical signs that he is close to you and that he cares about you.
Bright - Brink learns very quickly, at least in terms of skills. It is very easy for him to pick up on physical skills, sometimes he doesn't even need a teacher. He is an extremely accomplished fighter, having learned from his father-figure when he was younger in life. It takes him little to no time to master a skill.
Compassionate - Brink can very easily put himself in the 'shoes' of another and feel compassion for just about anyone. This makes it extremely hard for him to make enemies, because he is always trying to put himself in the place of a dog who hurt him and understand why they did it.
Diligent - It only makes sense for one of his breed to be diligent. He was born as a working breed, and it is practically hardwired into his psyche for him to put all he can into any job he is given. Combine this with his ability to easily pick on skills, and you have a formidable pawn on your paws.
Energetic - Brink is a lot like a puppy still, and his energy seems to be never-ending. He is always bouncing around, trying to keep himself busy. It is very easy to tell if something is bothering him, because if he has sat still for more than ten minutes you know something is wrong.
Friendly - Brink just adores making new friends. He can befriend just about anyone with relative ease. He is pretty good at holding a conversation, for one, and he doesn't give up if he decides you are worth befriending.
Kind - Ah, yes, yon would have to assume with one like him, he would be kind. Brink loathes to hurt any other canine, shying away from battle, despite his skill in it. He loves to help out where he can, doing everything in his power to keep fighting on the back-burner.
Loyal - When Brink decides you are worth befriending or joining, his loyalty will almost forever lie with you. There is barely anything you can do to shake his loyalty. He would very willingly give up his life for anyone in his pack or any one of his friends.
Optimistic - Brink can see the good side of just about any situation, and most of the time refuses to get down over things. It takes a lot to shake his optimism.
Romantic - This boy longs for a mate, a romance, a love story. He fantasizes about the day that he will find the perfect girl. Beautiful and kind. They will have a litter together, raise the puppies, and live in absolute happiness.. Or so he hopes.
Trusting - Combined with the rest of his traits, this trait is almost negative. Brink lives on the "innocent until proven guilty" system, and therefore will offer up his trust until someone gives him a reason to take it back.
THE BAD: Compulsive, Childish, Foolhardy, Gullible, Impatient, Irresponsible, Jealous, Naive, Over Emotional, Resentful, Weak Willed.
Compulsive - Brink doesn't have a large amount of self-control. He isn't the kind of dog who will sit around and weight the pros and cons of his actions before he takes them. No, he goes on gut-instinct and does whatever he feels is right.
Childish - Brink is immature. He still behaves a bit like a puppy, and he really enjoys a good play fight whenever anyone is up for it.
Foolhardy - Brink is one to throw caution to the wind. He doesn't care about what the smart thing to do is. He'll do what he wants, and he will deal with the consequences later.
Gullible - It is very easy to convince this dog of just about anything. You don't have to have a lot of proof to get him to agree with you or follow you. He isn't the kind who is going to study your actions and behaviors to determine if you're lying. Why would just lie to him, after all?
Impatient - If you have something you want to do that will take a little bit of time or patience, you better not invite Brink along. His impatience is so great that it even makes hunting difficult for him.
Irresponsible - You definitely don't want to give Brink any jobs of very high importance. He is very irresponsible, and his impulsive and foolhardy nature ensures that he won't follow orders very well.
Jealous - Brink doesn't deal well with his friends or lovers giving someone else more attention then they do him. If you want to be close to Brink, you better be prepared to devote some time to him.
Naive - Brink holds a certain sort of innocence about him, and he is very sweet. Despite everything that has happened in his life, he still believes the best of everyone around him.
Over Emotional - Brink has been known to over-react to situations and events. Most of his over-reaction in the form of happiness, but if you push him too far it can be in the form of anger and sadness as well.
Resentful - If you do manage to hurt Brink and get on his bad side, he will become very resentful toward you and all of the situations you put him in. He can become very bitter, in fact.
Weak Willed - Have you ever the quote, "If you don't stand for something, you'll fall for anything."? Well, that is basically Brink in a nutshell. He isn't really passionate about anything, so it is easy for him to be swayed to new views.

BEFORE CONCEPTION - Its kind of silly, really, to think that my parents were owned by an elderly human couple who did a little bit of breeding for some side money.. But that is exactly what happened. My father was Tempest and my mother was Tsunami, and they been a mated pair for as long as they could remember. The war had been going on for about six months when my sister and I were conceived. The elderly couple were desperate to get some extra money so they could move to a "safe place". However, things went downhill very fast before we were even born. The couple was killed in an attack, and Tsunami and Tempest were able to escape. They traveled into a nearby city, and Tempest was able to secure a small alley for them to live in. Never having been strays before, neither of them knew a lot about survival. My dad did some questionable stuff, stealing food and the like. Basically, he was playing a dangerous game.
Puppy-hood - Bliss and I came in the middle of the night. We actually had two brothers, but they were both born dead. My parents didn't have time to grieve for them, however, and they focused on keeping my sister and I alive. My sister and I were extremely close, probably closer than most siblings. Our father spent a lot of time out, looking for food, and our mother was very quiet and withdrawn, so we only had each other to cling to. We lived for three months in relative happiness, our father finding enough food to keep us all alive. One night, though, he returned bloodied and battered. Apparently, he had finally messed up and stolen from the wrong dogs. He thought he lost them, but they followed his blood trail back to us. They murdered him right in front of us, and then went for our mother. I was paralyzed in fear, and if it hadn't been for Bliss, I would have died that night. But she was always the smart one. We hid behind the dumpster, barely daring to breath. The brutes who murdered our parents hadn't realized that my mother was nursing, so they left soon after.
For the next week, we stayed beside our parents dead bodies, hiding behind the dumpster whenever anyone came around. We began to notice that there were less and less humans, so we knew that we at least didn't have them to worry about. Finally, hunger drove us from our hiding place. But we didn't know how to find food. Exhausted, we collapsed in the middle of the side-walk. A dog came upon us, a huge brute, I'm pretty sure he had some wolf in him. We just knew that we were dead, but instead of killing us, he nudged us to our paws and lead us to his home. He taught us how to survive, how to scavenge, how to hunt, how to fight. I was an excellent fighter, my sister a wonderful hunter and tracker.
Adolescence - The brute stayed with my sister and I until we were a year and a half old. One day, we woke up and he was just gone. He left us his home, his knowledge, everything except his name. With the expertise he had taught us, and the fact that he city was over-run by dogs now, we got along just fine. I was the protector, my sister was the hunter. We rarely ever went hungry, and we lived very well for a pair of strays. Another six months would pass before the next big event in my life rocked me to my core. My sister came back from hunting one day with two other dogs trailing behind her. A bedraggled female lab, and a huge, muscular bull-dog. She said they needed help, and it was our job to help them, that we were meant to pass on the gift of knowledge we had received as pups. Never having been cruel or selfish, I agreed. My sister and I worked hard to keep the lab alive, but she died within a couple of days. The bull-dog, Tiny, explained that she had lost all of their pups and along with them the will to live. He seemed very calm for a dog who had just lost his mate, but I tried to push it out of my mind.
It wasn't very long before my sister and Tiny started to develop feelings for each other. I'll admit it, I was very jealous. My sister had always been mine, my best friend, the only one I'd ever had, but now she was preferring to spend her time with Tiny. It was my jealousy that made me start seeing all of his faults. He rarely ever contributed. My sister could convince him to go on hunts now and then, but he only ever "guarded the fort". Hatred for the bull-dog began to burn in my stomach, and it wasn't long before I told my sister exactly how I felt about him. She accused me of being jealous that I couldn't find a mate, and told me I could either deal with him or leave. Of course, I stayed. My sister's words shook me to the core, though. How could she just choose another dog over me like that? Several months later, I came home to find Tiny bristling in the doorway. He told me I wasn't welcome anymore. We got in a fight, but I wasn't really into it. I could see my sister standing just inside the door, doing nothing to stand up for me.
Adulthood - I wasn't myself for a time after the fight. Normally I'm a really happy and energetic dog, but its hard to be happy when the only family you have betrays you as completed as my sister did. It was several months before I ran into a member of the Cesavlias pack. They sat down and talked with me, and I decided that joining the pack was my best option. I hated being alone with no purpose, so a pack could give me everything I needed and more. I followed the dog back to the pack-lands, and settled in. It is where I have resided ever since.
