GENERAL
There is a word-count of 300 words. This is a literate/advanced site, and, honestly, 300 words isn't that much. The bigger and better the post, the more someone has to respond to; keep that in mind, folks!
Keep it PG-13. Yes, I understand that unfortunate things tend to happen in character's lives, don't get me wrong - just don't be overly gory, and as soon as things get heated, please fade to black. This site isn't here to scar young children - there's other places for that.
Be respectful. Honestly, just treat others how you wish to be treated. The first letter is m. No one likes to be disrespected - so, don't do it.
One account per member, please. I find this is much easier to handle for members who have a handful of characters, so we'll stick with this if everyone is content with it.
All images must not exceed 480 pixels in width. This keeps the board from stretching unattractively, so please follow it! The second letter is a.
Avatars must not exceed 150x200 pixels. I find that's a rather fetch size, don't you?
Give credit where credit is due. If the image is from DeviantArt or Flickr, credit them! And, if it's not stock? Don't use them! I don't need to site getting hassled about credit not being given, and so I will be very strict about this rule.
No drama. I've seen drama among members tear apart sites before, and so I will not stand for it. Third letter is p. If you have a problem, keep it to PM or, even better, shoot me a quick message about the conflict. Boombam tomato and jam, problem solved.
Your account will be deleted after three weeks unexplained of inactivity. It makes sense, no? If you're going to be away for even a week, it's expected that you should post in the away board. Random disappearances are no fun, and thus make me sad on the inside.
Power-playing, God-Modding, etc is not allowed. Standard rules here, guys. This, of course, is with the exception of pack leaders. They're allowed to power-play to a certain degree [such as biting, pinning another down, striking out at, etc.] Please keep it fair and seemingly mildly legit.
Your application must be accepted in order to roleplay. Just in-case changes must be made, it makes more sense.
Character stats must be included when posting, or you must have a link to your logs in your signature. I'm sure it's not just myself that hates not knowing about who I'm replying too; this keeps things easy, and helps others from going on a wild goose-chase for information on a character they're posting with. Fourth letter is l.
CHARACTER
Dog breeds and wolves only, please. We do not accept foxes, dingoes, dholes, coyotes, etc. However, these species will often be offered as the prizes for contests and are purchasable in the store.
Albinism must be purchased. Interested? Have a look in the store!
Even once you have been accepted, you need to apply for a position within your character's pack. This way alphas, as well as myself, can keep track of what ranks certain characters hold. Each pack will have a designated thread for applying for a position.
All characters must age every Spring. This way everyone ages at once, and things can be kept organized. Fifth letter is an e.
Characters cannot be made under six months of age, and cannot exceed 13 years. Please, no hundred-year old characters, guys - be realistic, here. These animals are wild, remember, and many of them will not be accustomed to living life in said fashion. I encourage everyone to vary their character ages, but we don't want a buncha old geisers flailing around, do we?
You cannot join with a pregnant female. It just makes sense, yes? Sixth letter is an s. You would have no way of knowing specific statistics of the father, which is definitely needed in order for a child to be created fairly and effectively.
Males and females can both be alphas. Odd, perhaps, though I know the site is bound to get more than one female who won't submit to a male - so, why not let 'em lead?
You are allowed to play a maximum of one alpha and one beta. Challenged or decided in-character, you can have only two high positions. This keeps everyone happy, and gives other members some power. Seventh letter is a y.
Alphas must be posting at least every 5 days. We need to make sure activity stays strong, so this is the perfect rule to keep those playing important characters posting.
Homosexual characters are allowed. Pretty straight-forward, I don't feel any need to keep these from coming on the site. You don't agree? Well, we won't miss you.
CHALLENGING, BATTLING, STEALING
Alphas cannot be challenged for position. Yes, they can be challenged for their members, but they cannot be removed from the throne due to losing a fight.
A character can only challenge for positions, pack members, and land. The challenger will post an out-of-character thread within the alpha's land, stating clearly that they have been challenged, as well as what for, and have x many days to acknowledge said challenge. Eighth letter is an r. They must have [challenge] in the title, or the challenge is void. Once the alpha agrees to the challenge, then the challenger can proceed to create a thread within the desired land.
Only one character per every two weeks can be stolen per pack. We don't want to bombard everyone with stealing this and that - give 'em a break! For more information on stealing, look in the appropriate board.
Someone can only be challenged once every two weeks. Would you appreciate being bombarded with challenges any more often? I think not!
If someone does not respond to a challenge post in 3 days, the challenger wins by default. However, exceptions can be made if any of the participating members are absent. Ninth letter is a u.
People taking part in battle have seven days to reply before the other will win by default. This is important, once again to keep activity high.
At least 30 posts are required in order to challenge anyone. We don't want people joining and challenging people right away - it's important to know what you're getting into.
Once a fight is announced, PM a staff member immediately. This way, we can keep track of all of the challenges going on up in hur.
REPRODUCTION
There is no breeding season. Much like in the wild, breeding takes place whenever you wish. You have freedom as to when your female character goes into heat, but remember this - birthing is strategic. If your character is to give birth in the middle of winter, chances of survival for both mother and children are slim.
Birthing takes place three real-life weeks after the child is conceived. Better then nine months, no?
f you want a child, post in the correct board. If you do want funtimes to result in pregnancy, you MUST post in the appropriate board in order to receive child statistics. Otherwise, any breeding will not result in a child.
All child stats will be posted by staff, in response to your request thread. Do not fight with them over the response - it's useless and, besides, you can always change the child's appearance by purchasing the ability to do so in the store. Finally, the last letter is a p.
