PTOLEMY
MALE
SEVEN YEARS
ARCTIC WOLF
XARTHEN
GENERAL APPEARANCE.
Ptolemy is built like bear. His paws are wide and thickly muscled, long legs he is obviously pretty powerful. Broad shoulders and a long, wide-set body make him sturdy as a rock. Ptolemy's neck and jaws are probably his strongest assets though. The muscle in his shoulders thickens up further at his long, graceful neck which supports a large head that holds lethal fangs in side. Behind those fangs are jaw muscles strong enough to tear flesh and break a legs with quite a bit of ease. Wolves are known for having a good grip and his is definitely firm to say the least. With that strong neck as well, he can give prey or enemies a good few rough shakes to either daze or kill them.
As is the norm for the Arctic wolf breed, Ptolemy has thick, fluffy white fur. It is so bright that it seems to glow in direct sunlight, much like the snow in the Arctic. In Spring and Summer, his pelt is a bit less pure white and turns a yellowish color, brown markings appearing faintly. In all that fluff thous are several scars. Most are more apparent on his face and belly as well as his legs and some parts of his neck. This gives away his extensive battle experience and even makes him seem quite a bit more intimidating than he already is as a massive wolf.
Ptolemy's eyes are a bright yellow, almost like lightning. They darken when he's angered or fighting and glow even brighter when he's happy or excited. His eyes also seem to convey a bit of what he feels, only a small sample though. Most of the time, they only reflect what he's feeling most powerfully and magnify it dramatically. Needless to say, many say this polar bear of a wolf has extremely expressive eyes.
He's 31 inches tall and 175 pounds.

PERSONALITY.
Ptolemy has always had a more rough way to him than most. He's the sort of guy that is always pushing, shoving, and nipping others for his own pleasure. Feeling dominant is a must for him and if he feels like someone is threatening that, he's not afraid to verbally or even physically put them back into the place he sees fit for them. No matter the rank or gender of the wolf, if they irk Ptolemy, things will get physical. He was raised as a loner and as a result is very disregarding of the Pack rules. If he does get so close to someone as to be able to be patient enough to let them teach him obediance needed in Pack life, he may calm this a tad. Until then, he does what he likes and doesn't give much of a care of the consequences. If those above or close to him tell him to cool it though, he'll listen in a sense, wary of being kicked out of the Pack he's secretly come to love.
Not only is Ptolemy aggressive, he's also possessive. If he finds something he likes, he immediately decides no one else has the right to even look at it. Once he gets a mate, they better be prepared to have him around for everything to ward off others from stealing what's his. Also, if you do become this guy's mate, you are no longer allowed to even touch others without his permission. Like an alpha wolf, Ptolemy is very territorial and will fight any he feels want what he has. This doesn't only go for his mate though. When Ptolemy comes to take a liking to a certain victim to bully, slave he's obtained, or prey he chooses, he'll act the same until he's finished with it. As his pup, one will find that the treatment is also the same. Whatever is claimed is forever his and no one else better dare think of stealing one of his precious items because he would kill without qualms to keep his possessions.
Blunt and sarcastic, Ptolemy has possibly one of the sharpest tongues ever. If you ask his opinion, he'll give it to you straight and without hesitation or thought of how you will feel about his words. When someone gets hurt by his rudely straight-forward way of speaking, he'll simply shrug and tell them not to ask next time or even talk to him if they don't want the straight truth. As for being sarcastic, he simply can't help but act that way if he thinks someone asked or did something stupid. If they didn't want to hear his comment, they shouldn't have said or done it in the first place.
Going along with Ptolemy's sharp tongue is his great ability to spit insults to others. He has an extremely easy time hitting the target right on when it comes to getting to others. The reason he insults his Packmates and even those not of Xarthen is because not only does he want to test them and see their weak points, but he doesn't want to befriend them blindly and act out of his own personality just for them. Ptolemy doesn't want a friend who can't take a few jabs or handle his gruff personality. Besides, it seems that not many really like the aggressive wolf so it's fun to just piss them off into hating him even further.
While Ptolemy is aggressive and such, he has a cold, distant way to him that wards others off if his attitude doesn't. With an ever present scowl and negative air to him, not many dare to approach him themselves in the first place. This guy just doesn't put off the feel of someone anyone'd get along with and maybe it's on purpose. In all fact, Ptolemy is scared of being hurt. He's fine being on his own, but he too wants someone to have fun with. Even if he is a bully and loves to hurt others, Lavender does sometimes yearn for a best friend once more. It's been a long time since he's been able to fully trust a canine other than himself.
There is a loving side somewhere deep within Ptolemy. Some of the reason that he is so sour toward others is because he is testing them, like stated before. Yes, another is that they irritate the piss out of him, but there is a little piece of this guy that wants someone to love on. His loving side is actually really strong. Actually, it's way too strong, which is why he's so possessive. Ptolemy wants to keep things he finds beautiful or precious to himself only and not let anyone else see. The thing is, living things can't be hidden long. Either they will themselves out of hiding, or someone else discovers them completely by accident. Ptolemy doesn't seem to understand this concept and this is a big problem. He needs someone to open his eyes and see past his rocky outer-shell.

HISTORY.
Ptolemy was born to a gruff loner father and a delicate captive-bred mother. Their love wasn't quite love at first though. Athena, his mother, was a stubborn and sharp-tongued she-wolf with great looks and charm, but she teased other brutes relentlessly. Some could call her a player or possibly a whore, but that was just who she was. Athena had figured out that by seducing brutes, she could get whatever she wanted from the fools after fulfilling their desires. Most of the males she'd encountered were sweet and gentle, but one in particular began to stalk her, claiming his eternal love for the female and even going so far as saying if he couldn't have her, no one could. Needless to say, the seduction had taken a turn for the worse. The lunatic was obsessed with her and one day tried to kill a brute and her for being 'too friendly'.
Right when things were getting sticky, the wolf Athena was with already dead, a large guy by the name of Zeus along with his good friend Ares interrupted and dealt with the psychotic wolf with ease. An embarrassed Athena swore up and down that she hadn't needed their help, but Zeus merely scoffed and stated very plainly that he'd saved her life. It was then that the stubborn Athena fell for Zeus. She'd obviously never admit it, but it was obvious when she began to travel with Zeus and Ares, leaving her captive life behind.
Of course eventually the two became mates, Zeus confessing that he wouldn't have saved Athena if he hadn't been attracted to her. Well Ares took the hint and left the love-birds to themselves, leaving with a mysterious vow to see them again soon. The couple soon had two large and strong he-wolves which they named Ptolemy and Leonidas, seeing as the parents themselves had Greek-themed names. Ptolemy being the oldest, they hoped he'd grow to be wise as the famous writer they named him after. Leonidas was the smaller one, but came into the world with angry-sounding whines which made them figure he'd grow to be a warrior like the Spartan hero he was named after.
Oddly enough, Ptolemy and Leonidas grew to be complete opposites of what was expected of them. While Ptolemy was aggressive and war-like but also intelligent, Leonidas was witty and a care-free jokester. Despite their different natures though, the brothers were close and basked in their parents' love. When Ptolemy got old enough though he tired of the life of a loner. It was lonely to only have his parents and brother to speak to, ot that he minded much. But a part of the brute yearned for a purpose, something more than a life of wandering aimlessly.
At two years old, Ptolemy left his family, refusing his brother's offer to come along. Although they were best friends, Ptolemy knew his parents would grow lonely if they didn't have at least one of their sons at their sides. Leonidas was reluctant in agreeing, but stayed in the end, his sense of familial loyalty stronger than Ptolemy's.
Ptolemy travelled far and long, not stopping for much more than to eat or nap. It wasn't often that he slept through the night seeing as he felt the need to keep on the move. He did run into many scarring occurrences though. The he-wolf had fallen for a short-term memory plagued rogue only to have her try and rip his throat out in the morning, caught off guard to find a stranger sleeping at her side. This made him wary to love another or get close to others emotionally. The she-wolf had been his first and possibly last love. He stumbled upon 'abandoned' city buildings the night after his lost love and collapsed in a lavender patch out of emotional and physical exhaustion.
When he awoke, it was to harsh poking in his side and a demanding voice. The hostile wolf leapt to his paws quickly but kept his fangs bared at the sight of many wolves surrounding him. There were far too many for him to fight off. The apparent leader had commanded that Ptolemy tell him what he was doing in their territory.
After telling of travelling to find a purpose, Ptolemy was offered a spot in the Pack. He could be a great warrior with his fighting skills and would only have to do a pup's duties until he proved himself a fit warrior. Warily, Ptolemy agreed. He figured this was a rare chance at amusement and purpose and he could just leave if he didn't like it. Ever since, Ptolemy has lived happily, thinking his family fine and healthy.
What Ptolemy doesn't know is that his parents died a few months back from a forest fire. Their last call to his surviving brother was to find Ptolemy. On his journey to find his littermate, Leonidas ran into Ares who vowed to help in memory of his old friends. They are getting close and Ptolemy is still unaware, but once they find him, they will expect that he revert back into the life of a loner and leave the Pack he has grown to love.
