RHY
MALE
3 MONTHS
TIMBERWOLF
XARTHEN
Rhy is only a few months old and so his features will most certainly change and grow as he ages and gets through his adolescent stage. For now, however, he has large paws that often cause him to trip- but he is getting used to them. His ears are a bit large for his head, but he will grow into them. His tail is long and narrow, but with him, it will grow. His muscles are still under developed, but growing, not that he cares all that much- he will never mature to be a very large and muscular wolf. Rhy is a very animated child, his expression is always bold and often comical, but he can pull off a serious face for a few minutes before it breaks. Either way, when he matures he will carry this intensity with him (even if he is a clown then too).
At the moment, color wise he is average. His muzzle is dusted black while the ridge of his nose is a fawn color. This color fades to a white on his throat that continues down through his chest and over his belly. The forehead and hears are the same reddish brown color, down the back and sides of his neck are a reddish color mixed with black. This back and forth color continues down his spine, and fades over his ribs to a dull smoky brownish color on his ribs. All four of his legs are a fawn color, his tail is a mix of smoky brown and red and black. His eyes, most interesting are a bold reptilian amber color. Giving him an interesting and intense gaze.

Rhy is a character, he is young and immature and does not understand why everyone is serious and never plays around. He tends to annoy others because of this, not intentionally; he just wants someone to play with. With a happy, animated expression he seems like he is the happiest and most optimistic child around, but that is all a front. The child does get sad, frequently, but he substitutes it with distractions- the main reason he likes to play so much.
Rhy is an inquisitive wolf pup; he loves asking the questions ‘why’ and ‘how’. Even this annoys others, despite the fact that he is simply trying to understand everything he can. This curious nature often gets him into trouble as well, he will follow things and explore until his feet are sore and at that point he will rest- no matter where he is. It isn’t that he is incompetent or slow, the child just hasn’t been taught to know better. He is smart enough to find shelter, but his version of shelter and adults are two entirely different things.
Unseen to many, Rhy is a very determined pup, he loves a good challenge when playing, but his drive goes further than that. He wants to make his foster family proud, seeing as his real parents are no longer around. He does not, however, enjoy the intense training program and it is rare that he will go through it without an adult pushing him or watching. He simply is not interested in being big and strong when he can be thin and fast. Oh yes, this pup is an explorer, he loves to walk and run- its what got him lost in the first place. He enjoys a good wrestling match as much as any other pup but his real skill is in his ability to walk and travel far with little rest.
As he gets older, his personality is going to go through a bit of a shift, he will retain his clownish animations but he will learn why things needs to be serious and will adopt a more intense and focused expression that will dominate his clownish one. His determination to win the affection of his foster father and the pack will make him a rather intimidating wolf, one that excels in combat but has no real interest in it. His tracking and scouting ability will heighten and will most likely be his dominating role in the pack. Do not mistake him for a power hungry wolf, Rhy is a wolf that loves to play with the pups and as far as duty goes, he will make it through but he has no interest in excelling to the point of promotion in the pack. Where ever he ends up is where he will fight to stay at.

Rhy did not have a traumatic beginning to his life. Uknown to him, he was born a prince, the only male in the litter- to an alpha pair. If they had raised him, it’s likely he would have grown up differently and became a dominant wolf like his father. However, that is not the case and so, he is completely different. Rhy has no real memory of his mother and father. He knows that Xarthen and its leader are not his original family; he knows he was separated from his family but he has pushed the memory of them away.
How did he come to Xarthen? Well, simple, the child was out exploring with a packmate watching him when he was told to hide. Rhy did as he was told and hid inside a log- not exactly what his supervisor had meant, but it worked. The hollowed log was still thick and heavy, having only begun its hollowing process. He watched as his pack mate fought against a young bear and eventually led it away. The pack mate did not return, however, and Rhy waited the rest of the day and deep into the night. No one came to find him.
The chaos from the day kept him awake, but his mind grew bored and deciding it was safe to go out, he walked out of his hollowed sanctuary and trailed off in the direction his pack mate had went. He never found the pack mate, he smelled the blood and the bear and his pack mate but Rhy made no attempt to find the scene, perhaps knowing that the bear had killed his pack mate and not wanting to find the body, he kept going straight when the blood covered trail turned to the left. Nervous and more than a bit frightened, he hurried through the night, tripping and running into things, making a ruckus and alerting every creature in the woods that something was out there and it was either young or injured.
Still, his vigorous pace kept him either ahead of any predator (not likely) or he was merely lucky and did not get within earshot of anything hungry (most likely). When dawn arrived the pup found himself in a completely different part of the forest, nothing smelled familiar. Unknowingly Rhy had crossed out of his parent’s territory and was in open land, soon to be claimed by Ptolemy and his pack. The pup did not have the energy to go much further and so he found himself a tree that the roots came out above ground and burrowed himself in, letting his raw paws rest while he finally slept.
