Poser is sexy. He’s a very decent looking creature at a distance. It’s an imposing silhouette that comes from the young man, 32 inches of slim lines and slender muscles. Poser has always been an athletic beast, and it shows—a broad chest for expansion of lungs and a sturdy rib cage combined with the sight hound lines makes for a dog that runs like a bat out of hell. His eyes are another striking feature, keen and large and dark as they’re set into his skull. The color he’s been blessed with is absolutely stunning, luminescent silver brindling on stark cream fur.
It’s the fur that hides quite a lot. Scars manage to lay dormant under his coat, hidden by the silky waves. The fur itself is a protective mechanism on the handsome man, saving him from self consciousness at its worst. If you were to part the waves behind his ears, at the neck, you’d find a large scar. The wound has only just officially healed up, and it’s been the biggest shot to his pride yet… fighting over a mate can get you beat up. It hurts more when you lose. There are more scars from brambles and burrs that have found their way to his forelegs and underbelly, but none so severe as the ones that have come from that final brawl.

Brilliant. Absolutely, positively brilliant. That was before everything changed, at least. Poser had been the smartest, most handsome, most charming… before everything changed. Before life got in the way. It seems like life is always getting in his way, and that can get down on you after a while. It’s been down on Poser for the last few years, even. He’s breaking slowly, and that’s something he’ll hardly let show. Every last bit and piece of him is starting to crack and peel away. It’s like little pieces of his original personality are coming thrown when they don’t need to and flaking away directly after.
So he used to be brilliant, bright, positive, a shining star in the dark. Now Poser… well, he’s turned into some sort of monster. It’s slippery slope to monsterdom, and that’s what he’s been dragged into. It’s wonderful and terrifying all at the same time. He’s shorter of temper now than he ever has been. He’s keener of eye, quicker of foot as well. It’s something that he’s managed to take pride in, the fact that he’s fast and deadly now. It’s something that’s come easily as things and times have changed. Poser hates change. He’s always hated change.
And what’s left to love? He’s managed to fall in love with the ones that don’t last. The ones that belong to someone else, the ones that he can’t keep as his own. Maybe that’s the tragic aspect in him. Maybe that’s what’s thrown a wrench into every plan he’s ever made—maybe that’s why he doesn’t make plans anymore. He doesn’t think ahead, he just goes. Recklessness, boldness, brashness… it’s all come as a new thing to him. It’s all come as a wonderful thing too. It’s all so lovely. Poser has fallen in love with the new way he’s going to be, and maybe that’s the most dangerous thing about it all. Poser loves and then he leaves, simple as that. He’s simply sick of things falling apart in his hands.

Before the world fell apart Poser was having what you’d call the time of his life. He had a boy. He had a boy that loved him—who didn’t love that? Basically the best dog you could have asked for, save for the occasional naughty incident, Poser was a happy puppy. Sure, he liked to eat off the table and begged a little too much, but who could have blamed him? A happy dog. That’s what there is to love, a happy dog. A happy dog and a happy boy, all before the world fell apart. When the world falls apart everything inside it tends to as well.
Before the world fell apart, Poser even had the chance to fall in love. Not far from where he had a home and a warm hearth to sleep on, there was a pack of feral dogs living in an abandoned paper factory. It was a lovely building, the sort that urban explorers break into and take pictures of. The pack was a strange one, a small one, and the leader was a gentle creature—Jake. A young, sleek lab with eyes that shone and a good heart. A match made in heaven, and Poser couldn’t help but love every minute he spent with them. Everything was beautiful and nothing hurt.
Pain came soon enough. An air raid took out the paper factory. His boy and his mom just… well, they left. They left without Poser. They left him to find his way, and that’s what he’s been trying to do. There has only been one other love along the way, and he managed to… well, Poser fucked up. What he won’t tell anyone is that Poser isn’t his real name. His real name was left behind, left with The Mad Hatter… the one who he managed to fuck up. The one who managed to give him a reason to live and a reason to want to give up and die. The one who screwed everything up.
So here he is. So here he is wanting to make things right… because he’s sick of fucking up.
